What's Happening Right Now
The Protection for Biblical Teaching Is Being Stripped Away
On December 1, 2025, the Liberals and Bloc Québécois made a deal to remove the current legal protection for "sincerely held religious beliefs" based on Scripture. Right now, Canadians are protected from hate-speech charges when they express views in good faith based on the Bible. Bill C-9 will eliminate that protection entirely.
This means pastors preaching God's Word, parents teaching biblical truth, and believers sharing the Gospel could face criminal investigation—not for violence or threats, but simply for proclaiming what Scripture says about marriage, gender, sexuality, and the sanctity of life.

Who's at risk: Pastors preaching from Scripture; Parents teaching their children biblical truth; Christian schools upholding biblical standards; Pro-life ministries defending the unborn; Believers sharing their faith or testimony.
Churches can face crippling legal costs. Ministries can be tied up in prolonged investigations and court battles. The process itself becomes the punishment.
